GlamPalm Review

The GlamPalm is a unique new flat iron in the beauty industry. Offering various heat settings, strong tension, safety heat settings, and the ability to make hair seem pliable are some of the amazing benefits of this iron. As a stylist for private clients, theatrical performances, and wedding parties, I am critical and “picky” when it comes to my heated tools. I was completely invoked and challenged upon discovery of the GlamPalm from a fellow salon owner and CEO of Hairflix (an online community for hairdressers/makeup artists). Using the GlamPalm has proven to be no less than superior.

The digital heat setting makes it simple and safe for stylists or clients to use. It has a wide variation of settings ranging from 215-390. The GlamPalm has automatic knowledge to turn off after 30 minutes of sitting idle. However, it will continue to stay on as long as it is in use.

The plates, incorporated with Healing Stone Technology, leave the hair smooth and shiny without the fly-aways and without the pulling tension of many other irons. The unique spring design in the plates allow for the hair to be curled, flipped, or waved. Do all your cords get tangled up and knotted on your irons? GlamPalm has a swivel cord attachment that avoids frustrating tangles.

Okay, so I am a stylist that works with irons, equipment, and chemicals on a daily basis…You may ask, “Does it really work for people who do not work in the beauty industry?” Here are what a few of my clients have to say:

Georgian Style Wig - late 1700's

Here is a Georgian Style wig I created. There is a frame/cage inside of this wig to help the hair to stand higher. There is also crepe hair used inside of the curls to make them fluffy and full!

During this time period women only got their hair done once every three months. They would get it "powdered" instead of washed. Many bugs, flies, and other unknowns would be trapped in their hair. The back-scratcher we know nowadays was originally created for these women to scratch their heads! Soon after this period women started cutting their hair short...Wonder why... :) Interesting...

This is the progression of the front hairline. Front hairlines are the hardest to do. Many wigs get re-fronting (front hair line re-done, knotted, and sized) done rather than making a whole new wig for the actor/client

18th Century Wigs

Here is a sample of an 18th Century wig foundation that I made. They are made with different types of lace and different types of knotting (double-knotting and under-knotting). These wigs are made to look like "wigs" and not as natural.

Glyndebourne Opera House

An International Opera house called Glyndebourne is where we spend some of our time. We also saw a show called "La Cenerentola" (a.k.a. "Cinderella"). AMAZING...the Opera House is hidden and surrounded in beautiful English gardens.
